Hope Prison Ministry celebrates the greatest gift of all

At Hope Prison Ministry we are constantly inspired by the greatest gift of all: the life of Jesus Christ given for us so we can be in a close relationship with God the Father. We rely on God’s provision for every step we take and we would be honoured if you choose to be part of supporting the work that we do.

FOCUS YOUR DONATION ON A PROJECT

RESTORATIVE JUSTICE PROGRAM

Sponsor our week-long Restorative Justice Program in a range of prisons all over South Africa. The Restorative Justice Program places a few inmates at a table with a caring facilitator who helps them process concepts like taking responsibility, the victim experience and forgiveness. Facilitators then counsel the inmates one-on-one for ten weeks. Your donation towards Restorative Justice Program goes towards course elements like handbooks for inmates, lunches at the course or transport money for facilitators and family members so that relationships may be restored.

COUNSELLING

“Hurt people hurt others” – Pastor Jonathan Clayton. Sponsor Hope Prison Ministries as they bring counselling to the dark corners of prisons, where inmates least expect to find understanding and a place to heal from the wounds of childhood. A high percentage of inmates report experiencing physical or sexual abuse as children or absent or addicted parents. The impact of counselling cannot be overstated, it is the miracle cure that our society is waiting for. But it is not cheap or instant so your donation goes far to bring change. Which leads to a postivtive outcome for society

LIFE SKILLS AND TRAINING

Donate and support our valuable life skills programme. Volunteers tutor or train inmates in computers, job readiness or communication skills. Prisoners also often study during their sentence, so tutoring helps them make the most of their sentence. We also offer soft skills, challenging inmates to grow in teamwork, problem-solving, time management and critical thinking. These skills are vital as inmates step back out into their communities and try to make a life for themselves. Sponsor now and be a part of transforming lives and society.
